Executive Director's Message

Stay Smart, Stay Busy, Stay Safe, STAY HOME!!

Greetings Legacy students, Legacy parents, and Legacy community!!!!

We here at Legacy all wanted to take a moment to reach out to you with warm wishes and sincere, heartfelt love.  The times are a bit challenging but we are confident that we can and will pull through victoriously.

This is the time to apply our Character Virtues, our Habits of Mind, and our IB Learner Profile.  They help us to stay focused on what’s most important: our health, safety and wellbeing along with the health, safety, and wellbeing of others.  Stay busy with your work packets or the work that you have gotten off of Legacy’s website.  This work has been specifically developed just for you.  We wanted to make sure that you are able to stay current with your studies and stay busy with work that is meaningful, relevant, and fun.

Stay safe by following all of the recommendations from State and Federal Health Organizations; particularly the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; some of which we have listed on our website.  Follow the links for the most current information.  These guidelines are critical to keep us all safe and healthy.  Take them seriously and follow them carefully and diligently.

Please go to Legacy’s website and listen for all of our school messengers for updates on work packets and meals and other information that pertains to your best interest and wellbeing.

Please know that we love you and we miss you.  We miss seeing your smiling faces and we miss hearing your voices.  We miss you and we look forward to your return.  Stay safe, stay healthy, stay busy, and stay home!

Sincere and best wishes,

Dr. Forte

Encouraging Poem: Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road your trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and its turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When they might have won, had they stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victors cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when your hardest hit,
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit!
